SALT LAKE CITY — Police say the man suspected of killing 21-year-old Isaiah Valerio at a Halloween party on Sunday morning turned himself in.

Witnesses told detectives Roy Anthony Duran, 20, attended a party at a warehouse near 500 West 600 South in downtown Salt Lake City.

According to a statement released from the Salt Lake City police department, Duran is alleged to have started arguing with other partygoers just after midnight on October 24, 2021 before punching Valerio, shooting him and fleeing the scene.

Duran turned himself in to the Clearfield Police Department on Monday.  He was transported to the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Homicide Squad where he was arrested.

Duran faces multiple charges, including homicide, obstruction of justice, and being a restricted person in possession of a firearm.

Police are still asking for anyone who was at the warehouse Halloween party on Saturday night/Sunday morning who may have video in the moments before, during and after the shooting, to please contact them at 801-799-3000 and reference case number 21-195834.
