SPANISH FORK, Utah– Firefighters were treated with smoke inhalation after responding to a commercial fire at Mountain Country Foods.

Crews were dispatched Wednesday night at 6:47 p.m. to the report of heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the pet treat manufacturer near, 185 East 1600 North. Units from Spanish Fork Fire, Payson Fire, Salem Fire, Mapleton Fire, and Provo Fire all responded to the fire because of its size.

Officials said the fire was contained to 40,000 square feet of the warehouse. Investigators believe a mechanical error from the oven or a conveyer belt caused the fire.

Four employees were in the building at the time of the fire. All employees were able to exit safely and were checked for minor smoke inhalation. They were then released at the scene.
