Bowls and title games: what’s next for Utah college football teams

SALT LAKE CITY — A few Utah college football teams are gearing up for their next challenge as the regular season comes to a close. There are two conference championships and some bowl games around the corner.
University of Utah
The University of Utah football team is heading to Vegas for a rematch against Oregon in the Pac12 Championship.

The Utes wrapped up the regular season with a 9-3 record after an easy win over Colorado Friday. The team closed out the season at the No. 14 spot on the AP Top 25.
Utah clinched a spot in the conference championship game as the Pac12 South winners earlier this month. The game will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3.
Brigham Young University
The BYU Cougars are anxiously awaiting the release of updated college football playoff rankings to learn which bowl game they will play in.
BYU toppled USC in a close game Saturday to end the regular season with a 10-2 record. They currently sit two spots ahead of Utah at the No.12 spot in the AP Top 25.

Utah State University
The Aggies are heading to the Mountain West Championship game after beating New Mexico on Friday. Utah State completes the regular season with a 9-3 record.

San Diego State will host Utah State in the Mountain West Football Championship Game at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA at 12:00 p.m. P.T. on Saturday, December 4.
