OGDEN, Utah — Police say a suspected bank robber accused of holding up a Zion’s Bank location in Ogden fled the scene using a FrontRunner train.
On Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, Ogden police say they learned someone entered the Zion’s Bank at 2302 Washington Blvd. and showed a bank employee a note in which he demanded money.
Officers from the Ogden Police Department (OPD) reported to the scene around 9:20 am.
Ogden police say the bank teller complied with the demands of the alleged robber. Once the suspect secured the stolen money, the teller said he left the bank. The teller sounded the hold-up alarm, which notified police.
In a news release, OPD noted they coordinated with Utah Transit Authority (UTA) to uncover the suspect’s whereabouts. They determined the suspect left Ogden on FrontRunner heading south.
Officials from multiple departments, including Farmington Police and the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, responded to locate and detain the suspect, police said.
Police arrested a man named Favian Martinez-Ramirez, booking him into the Weber County Jail. He faces accusations of robbery, obstruction of justice, and a parole violation.
Police say he did not display any weapons during the heist.
