STOCKTON, Utah — A Tooele County man was arrested Friday for investigation on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to a press release from the Stockton Police Department, the investigation into Lance Pooler, 57, goes back to July 2020. At that time, police were notified by family members of Pooler of child porn they discovered on the computer.

Tooele County man investigated

During the investigation, the family members told authorities that Pooler was the only one to use that computer. After securing a search warrant, authorities took the computer to the Regional Computer Forensics Lab (RCFL) for examination.

During the investigation in 2020, Pooler was interviewed by police. According to the police press release, Pooler, during that interview, admitted he routinely looked at child porn several years ago. However, he said everything that was downloaded recently was done so by accident.

On Wednesday (Dec. 1), the RCFL finished its exam on the computer and returned it back to the Stockton police.

According to the police press release, there were hundreds of child porn images found on the computer. Additionally, there were 13 distinct child pornography search terms that were flagged by the RCFL.

A final admittance

On Friday, Stockton police interviewed the Tooele County man again. At first, he claimed he looked at child porn a long time ago, and no longer did it.

After investigators confronted him about the search terms, and how recent they were to when his computer was seized, Pooler admitted that he still viewed child porn when his computer was seized.

Pooler was booked into the Tooele County Jail.
