CLINTON, Utah — The suspect in a Clinton stabbing was shot and killed by police last night.

What we know so far

A man is suspected of stabbing someone after getting into an argument, said Clinton Police Chief Shawn Stoker.

The first stabbing victim escaped the home and ran into a home next door, reported Chief Stoker.

Chief Stoker then reported an uninvolved woman came out of her neighboring home after hearing the commotion from the alleged stabbing.

She found the suspect in the street and was stabbed multiple times by him in the street, explained Chief Stoker.

The event reportedly happened Thursday evening near 1700 N 1300 W in Clinton. Police are unsure if drugs were involved, and don’t yet have detailed information on the suspect.

Police fired shots

The male suspect then continued down the street where he encountered police.

Upon seeing the suspect, police fired shots at him, reported Chief Stoker.

The shots fired resulted in the suspect’s death, said Stoker.

The officers involved are currently on administrative leave and their use of force is being investigated by the Police Department.

Victims expected to survive

The victims were transported to the hospital for care.

Both victims are alive and expected to survive, police say.
