With New Year’s approaching, many people are thinking about making their new year goals for 2022. Resolutions often include things like fitness goals, travel, or making business goals.

However, all New Year’s Resolutions revolve around one idea: happiness. Here are some ways you can spend the new year happy!

This year, make your #1 new year happy goal to be the happiest version of you

The real key to a happy New Year’s resolution is to identify what makes you happy. Then, create goals that support the structure you need.

If you’re struggling with depression or other mental health issues, know that you can still make happiness your focus. By emphasizing self-care and mental health treatment options, this is a very attainable goal.

(And of course, if you have a difficult day, it doesn’t mean you’re failing. It just means you’re growing steadily).

1. Identify What You Need for Self-Care and Make a Plan

If you need New Year’s resolution ideas for how to make happiness your top priority, this is a big one. Self-care is so important for nurturing self-love and a positive structure for your mental health.

Does clutter drive you mad?

Do you need to lower your cortisol levels because of stress?

Do you just need a break from kids now and again, and struggle to find time to decompress?

Identify the things that are making it hard for you to feel okay or succeed in your day-to-day life. Then, determine which goals you can realistically incorporate into your routine.

If you struggle with feelings of guilt over taking time for yourself, sit with that feeling for a moment. Why do you feel guilty about prioritizing yourself? Can you really care for those you love if your needs aren’t being met?

Crafting goals based on an understanding of what you need most makes it much more likely that you’ll crush it in 2022.

2. Cure Depression and Anxiety with Ketamine Treatments in Utah

If you’ve been struggling with depression or anxiety, it can be difficult to reach your goals. Some days, the overwhelm is just too much and you feel as though you can’t function. Other days, you may just want to sleep for a year. (And then you wake up feeling even worse because you’re even more behind).

But did you know that ketamine treatments are proven to increase serotonin levels in as little as one day?

In a 2020 report on the efficacy of ketamine treatments in patients with depression, Keith Heinzerling, MD, at  Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, said, “For someone who is feeling suicidal or experiencing other serious, debilitating symptoms of depression, this can be what gets them past that enough to be treated.”

Not only does serotonin improve symptoms of depression and anxiety, but ketamine has been shown to repair damaged neural pathways. This kind of treatment ‘rewrites’ the brain and helps patients improve drastically over time.

If you struggle with mental health, you can get the gold standard of treatment right here in Utah. With 40 years of experience, Therapy Reset will help you reset your brain for a happier you in 2022.

Now, we’re not talking about doing something terrifying, like exploring haunted houses or going skydiving.

No, this is more along the lines of the popular proverb, “Nothing that is worthwhile is ever easy.”

Often, when people think of how they want their lives to look in the future, they think big: a mansion, a wildly successful job, breaking out of the 9-5, and doing something they love for a living.

However, it’s all too easy to become consumed by self-doubt. It’s easy to assume that it’s too difficult to get there, that you don’t have the time or the know-how, that you’re an ‘imposter.’

But what it really boils down to is a lack of self-confidence.

So instead, when you feel that fear or self-doubt creeping up, take that feeling as a sign that you’re on the right path.

Get out there and do the one thing that scares you next year. And who knows? Maybe that’s what you’ve been missing all along so you can spend your new year happy.
