One man killed in a single-car crash in Carbon County

CARBON COUNTY, Utah — A single-vehicle crash Monday morning in Carbon County claimed the life of a 48-year-old man from Price.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the accident occurred about 7:30 a.m. A red Dodge Neon was traveling west on SR-123 near milepost 4. At that point, the vehicle drifted off to the right, then overcorrected to the left, crossing the centerline. 

It then traveled off the south edge of the highway and overturned. The 48-year-old victim was the lone occupant in the car. According to the UHP, he had been thrown from the car and was deceased when first responders arrived. 

The UHP also reports that the occident had occurred earlier than when it was reported. Additionally, there was no sign of impairment. The UHP also states the victim had not been wearing a seat belt. 

There was little impact on traffic during the course of the investigation.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
