TOOELE, Utah — Officers responded to a call about domestic violence on Wednesday. When they arrived, shots were fired at police and they fired back. Now, a 49-year-old male is in critical condition.
On Wednesday morning, Tooele City Police Department responded to a call about an incident of domestic violence.
A woman said her husband was being physically violent. Dispatchers heard he screaming on the phone.
Officers were dispatched to a home near 900 West and 600 South.
When officers arrived, there was a confrontation in the home. The suspect fired at police and officers returned fire.
The 49-year-old male suspect is in critical condition. Tooele PD reported that their officers are okay following the gunfire exchange.
