SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City School district released their mask exemption numbers on Tuesday.

The report showed 52 students across the district have been granted permission to go maskless. That is less than 1% of the over 20,000 K-12 students enrolled in the district’s schools.
According to a district release, students at Bonneville, Clayton, East, Emerson, Hawthorne, Highland High, Highland Park, Hillside, Northwest, Open Classroom, and SPA requested and received an exemption from wearing masks.
A small number of students requested mask exemptions at each of the listed schools. The highest number exemptions requested at any one school was 21.
The Granite, Jordan, Murray and Canyons school districts have all reported high adherence to the mask order as well, according to the Deseret News.
The Canyons district told Deseret that they received 600 exemption requests last week.
