SALT LAKE CITY — Utah senate minority leader Karen Mayne announced late Friday afternoon that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
Mayne says she had been in an accident where she had broken her shoulder. And during her medical treatment, it was discovered she had cancer.
The Democratic Senator who represents Salt Lake County says she’s hopeful she’ll be back in the legislature. She says she has unfinished work to do.
“Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. I have felt them all, and I greatly appreciate all of you and your support,” Mayne said in a press release.
