Round two of snowstorm makes for a messy commute

SALT LAKE CITY — The second round of a two-stage snowstorm arrived in Utah Tuesday morning, delivering slick conditions all over the state and making traffic tricky.
Forecasters expected the worst snowstorm conditions south of Salt Lake City, with central and southern Utah picking up the most snow.

But along the Wasatch Front, the lake effect delivered overnight snowfall just in time to coat the roads with an icy layer as many drivers left for work.

KSL traffic reporters tracked at least 6 crashes in one stretch of I-215’s west side belt in a short period of time. Several crashes plagued I-15 between Draper and Salt Lake City as well.
KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman says the snow in northern Utah will taper off by Tuesday afternoon. But he expects more snowfall tonight along with the chance for wind, specifically canyon wind near Centerville, Farmington, and Ogden. Those winds could reach up to 50 miles per hour.
