HEBER CITY, Utah — If you wanted to see them, it’s too late.

The Utah National Guard has removed two Blackhawk helicopters this afternoon after two collided during a training accident last week in the Mineral Basin area of the Snowbird Ski Resort.

The Nevada Army National Guard brought in one of its giant CH-47 Chinooks to help remove the two helicopters. They were hoisted over the mountain tops, right onto the ground at Heber City’s airport.

From there, crews will load the helicopters onto some trailers, and they’ll be taken back out to the Utah Army Aviation Support Facility in West Jordan.

There was a small hiccup with getting the helicopters hoisted into the air, but only a tree was moderately harmed.
