OGDEN, Utah — A 3-year-old girl has died after being critically injured in a crash on northbound I-15 in Ogden this morning.
This happened around 5 a.m. when 9-10 cars collided in three different areas because of the slick road conditions on northbound I-15 from the overnight storm.
The 3-year-old girl was in a Chrysler PT Cruiser and taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries. KSL TV’s Shara Park and her photographer, John Wilson, happened upon the crash this morning and stepped in to help.
Ogden Police reported a Hyundai Genesis lost control, and hit the center barrier then came to stop facing the wrong way on the freeway. Soon after, the PT Cruiser over corrected to miss the Hyundai, sliding and also hitting the center barrier, to rest sideways in the two left lanes.
A Dodge Ram was unable to avoid the PT Cruiser, ultimately hitting the car on the driver’s side of the car.
A fourth car, a Toyota Corolla, then came around the corner and hit the Hyundai head-on. The fifth and final car also came around the corner and hit the PT Cruiser on its other side.
One adult with other non-life threatening injuries.
