ST. GEORGE, Utah — Two people were injured Thursday afternoon in a small plane crash near St. George, police said.

According to police, emergency personnel received a call of a small four-seat plane going down south of Stucki Farms and Washington Field Road at 1:45 p.m.

A man and his wife were on the plane, coming from Casper, Wyoming. According to individuals on scene, the pilot was complaining of back pain and had some lacerations. The woman had lacerations on her arms and face with a possible broken jaw. Both had to be extricated from the plane by emergency personnel and were transported to an area hospital.

Authorities say they aren’t sure what caused the plane crash. However, the plane had its landing gear down. Once the plane hit the ground, it skidded about 100 feet right side up.

The plane will stay there until the NTSB conducts a full investigation.
