Pedestrian dies after being hit by a motorcyclist in Draper

DRAPER, Utah — Draper police confirm that a pedestrian has died from injuries he received when he was hit by a motorcyclist.
Spokesman Pat Evans said the motorcyclist was driving on 900 East and Roseville Lane when the pedestrian was hit.
Police said the pedestrian had stepped into the roadway in an attempt to slow or stop the motorcyclist.
The motorcycle driver was speeding when he hit the pedestrian, according to witnesses.
The pedestrian, identified as James Mair, age 43, was transported to a hospital in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries at 5:30 Tuesday morning.
The motorcyclist was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said there is no indication of impaired driving, and that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet when he crashed.
