WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah – Masks are no longer required in national parks or on public transportation.

The National Park Service previously announced mask requirements would vary between parks based on local COVID-19 levels. CDC guidelines still required park guests to wear masks on public transportation, like the Zion National Park shuttles.

Since a federal judge struck down the CDC’s transportation mask mandate, guests can choose if they’d like to wear a mask or not.

The Utah State Park’s website had this to say about guidelines surrounding COVID-19. “We advise park visitors to always use their best judgment when determining the safety of themselves and their families. Guests are encouraged to practice healthy hygiene and avoid visiting parks if they feel ill or are having symptoms.”

The National Park Service director recommended checking the park’s website before leaving to see if there are COVID-19 requirement changes.
