HELPER, Utah — A female motorcyclist died Thursday afternoon in an accident on SR-191 near milepost 258, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The UHP says the area of the mountain where the accident took place contains several S-turns. The UHP further states there were three motorcyclists. The first motorcyclist had a learner’s permit, but not a lot of experience driving a motorcycle.

As the victim entered one of the turns, she was unable to navigate a turn. The motorcycle struck the guardrail, and the victim was thrown from the motorcycle and over the guardrail.

The Helper City Police Chief was first on scene and performed lifesaving measures on the victim. However, she passed away at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released. Authorities are still in the process of notifying the victim’s family.
