DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — The future of West Davis Highway hit a milestone of sorts this week, with the laying of the first stretch of asphalt.
The first section in place is near 200 North in Kaysville. However, it’s not quite ready to be driven on. The project, which began in May 2021, isn’t expected to be completed until sometime in 2024.
Once completed, the 16-mile highway will run from Glovers Lane in Farmington to SR-193 in West Point. The highway will have interchanges at Legacy Parkway in Farmington; 2000 West and 2700 West in Layton and Antelope Drive in Syracuse.
UDOT Spokesman Mitch Shaw tells KSL NewsRadio supply chain issues and rising prices are a concern. So far, the project hasn’t been delayed. However, Shaw says that could change at some point.
The cost of the project is $750 million.
