Anxiety and depression rates rise nationwide

SALT LAKE CITY — A team of analysts at QuoteWizard found that Utah has one of the highest numbers of people dealing with anxiety in the nation.
Around 32% of people in Utah are struggling with anxiety. Furthermore, that percentage of people report symptoms nearly every day.
Anxiety or depression through the pandemic
According to the research, women report higher levels throughout the pandemic than men. Those reporting lower levels are older and more educated Americans, said OuoteWizard analysts.
The analysts also took a look at race and ethnicity. Their research found Black, Hispanic and white communities have about the same rate. Contrary, Asian communities show a decline during the pandemic.
Furthermore, since 2021, rates have risen as much as 81% in some states.
More statistics
When compared to straight communities, lesbian and gay communities experience higher levels of stress in the same state. QuoteWizard said that 80% of the gay and lesbian community in Alabama experiences anxiety and depression. Comparatively, 20% of the straight community has depression or anxiety.
That said, levels are nearly the same in Washington, Oregon, and California. Regardless of your sexuality.
