MILLARD COUNTY, Utah — An entire Utah town in Millard County is now out of water on June 16.
A Millard County Commissioner confirmed to KSL NewsRadio that the town of Lynndyl’s wells have all run dry. This is just northeast of Delta.
One commissioner tells Jeff Caplan’s Afternoon News, that the wells drying up appears to be a pump issue.
Commissioner Evelyn Warnick says the mayor told her it’s a pump issue that’s left the 200,000-gallon tank that’s empty.
“I had Mayor [Briar] Proctor call me and tell me that they’ve been working on water issues for the past two days and that they’re out of water,” said Warnick. “They actually have two wells, and one will turn on, but it’s not pumping anything. And the other one, it’s just not doing anything.”
Warnick says surrounding towns like Lemington and Oak City are being asked to help with the water. KSL TV’s Alex Cabrero reports one commissioner is now reaching out to the Utah National Guard for help.
Lynndyl has a population of approximately 120 people.
