LAYTON, Utah — The 2022 Warriors Over The Wasatch Air and Space Show will showcase many aerial demonstrations, but the event will bring more than entertainment to Utahns.

Alison Sturgeon, the STEM program manager for Hill Air Force Base told KSL TV‘s Shara Park about an educational attraction that will be featured at this weekend’s event.

Sturgeon said the base created STEM City four years ago to inspire kids to go into STEM; science, technology, engineering, and math.

The attraction will feature hands-on exhibits related to STEM and how those skills relate to the Air Force.

Sturgeon said the exhibits will, “Hopefully get a lot of them to be engineers and computer scientists. Because that’s what we need.”

STEM City’s exhibits will include a full-scale model of the Mars Perseverance Rover, the Ingenuity helicopter and a wind tunnel. Sturgeon said there will be more than 30 exhibits at STEM City.

The Air and Space Show be held Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 8 a.m. on both days and admission is free.
