New wildfire ignites Tuesday in Washington County near Apple Valley

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — A new wildfire ignited Tuesday afternoon near Apple Valley in Washington County.

According to Utah Fire Info, the Apple Valley Fire is located northwest of Apple Valley and is burning in brush and grass. The size of the fire is roughly 30 acres. 

Five fire engines are on scene and crews are battling the blaze. Utah Fire Info says crews have been able to stop to the progress of the fire.

Late Tuesday evening, Utah Fire Info reported the size of this fire has grown to 150 acres. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Utah Fire Info says it’s likely that it was a natural start.

Crews will remain on scene overnight Tuesday to sure up containment lines.
