SALT LAKE CITY — The June jobs report from the state of Utah shows unemployment rates held steady in June.

“Unemployment staying at 2%, with the nation staying 3.6% — so we’re right there with one of our best unemployment numbers we’ve had, pretty much in our history,” said Nate McDonald of the June jobs report, the deputy director of the Department of Workforce Services, told Utah’s Morning News.

McDonald says June job growth has stayed constant — around 3.5%.

“With such unemployment numbers, you could expect our job growth to start dropping,” said McDonald. “We were starting to see that, but it’s still staying relatively the same. The fact that we’re still adding those jobs indicates people are coming back into the workforce.”
