KAYSVILLE, Utah — Fire crews in Davis County were kept busy Thursday with a pair of structure fires.

The Kaysville Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the area of 1800 South 300 East late Thursday afternoon.

Officials said the fire started on the outside of the home and made its way into the attic.

There were three people and a dog inside the home at the time. However, they all made it out of the home unharmed.

Crews from Layton, Farmington, Syracuse, Hill Air Force Base, and South Davis Metro Fire Service all responded to the fire.

The cause is still under investigation.

A second Davis County fire

Later, crews from Syracuse and Layton were called to the second of the two Davis County fires — a barn fire in the area of 3200 West 2700 South in Syracuse.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, a haystack and barn were on fire. Fires officials said a tractor and hay bailer were also involved in the fire.

Crews from the Clinton City Fire Department and the North Davis Fire District also responded to the fire in Syracuse.

No humans or animals were harmed. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials were unsure of the cost of damage to the hay.
