Accident kills 6-year-old, GoFundMe set up for the family

SALT LAKE CITY — Last night, the Kimball family was driving on the freeway when a semi-truck smashed into the Kimball’s car. The impact killed 6-year-old Edison Kimball and sent his mom and sister to the hospital with serious injuries. A GoFundMe has been set up for the family here

Sep. 8, 2022, Update: 6:32 p.m. 

SALT LAKE CITY — Sgt. Cam Roden, of the Utah Highway Patrol, tells KSL that a child has died in the crash. Roden says a mother and two children, all in the same car, were critically injured in the crash. And one child has since passed away.

SALT LAKE CITY — The westbound lanes of I-215 South were closed at Ft. Union Blvd. on Thursday afternoon after an injury crash involving multiple vehicles.

Sgt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said the crash involved as many as eight cars and that three people were in critical condition.

UDOT tweeted that the nearby Union Park onramp was also closed.
