SALT LAKE CITY — Groundbreaking dates for four temples in Latin America have been announced this week by the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Managua Nicaragua Temple will be held Nov. 26. Elder Taylor G. Godoy, first counselor in the Central America Area Presidency, will preside at the ceremony.
The temple will be constructed on an 8.9-acre site. According to a church news release, designs for this temple call for a single-story structure of roughly 25,000 square feet.
Ground will break for the Miraflores Guatemala City Guatemala Temple on Dec. 3. Presiding at the event will be Elder Patricio M. Giuffra, first counselor in the Central America Area Presidency.
This temple will be constructed on a 1.5-acre site. According to a news release, this temple is planned to be a two-story structure of roughly 30,000 square feet.
On Dec. 10, the groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Torreón Mexico Temple. Presiding at the event will be Elder Hugo Montoya, Mexico Area President.
Plans for this temple call for a single-story structure, built on a .89-acre site of roughly 10,000 square feet.
Ground will be broken for the Querétaro Mexico Temple on Jan. 7, 2023. Presiding at the ceremony will be Elder Adrián Ochoa, first counselor in the Mexico Area Presidency.
The temple will be constructed on 3.58 acres of land. Designs for the temple call for a two-story structure of 27,500 square feet.
