New bat exhibit on display at Utah preserve in Park City

PARK CITY, Utah — A new bat exhibit in Utah is on display now and until the new year.
“Soar with Bats” is an educational exhibit designed to shed light on the mysterious world of bats. It was created by the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter.
The EcoCenter is affiliated with Utah State University Extension in Park City, Utah. It features a 1,200-acre nature preserve and a large space for interactive nature exhibits.
“Bats are one of the most misunderstood but amazing animals. We are excited to highlight the wonderful world of bats through this fun and interactive exhibit,” said Hunter Klingensmith, visitor experience and exhibit manager at Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter.
In a press release, Klingensmith said the exhibit will help visitors turn their fear into fascination. Soar with Bats will feature a bat theater, live bats to watch, and hands-on interactive and educational activities about bats.
“Bats are responsible for our food through guano production and pollination,” said exhibit creator Aaron Cleveland. “Bats are responsible for pest and health control by consuming insects by the thousands each night.”
Open every Wednesday through Sunday, visitors can arrive anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Jan 8.
