Utah National Guard to hold Veterans Day concert Friday

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah National Guard will host its 67th annual Veterans Day concert Friday at 7 p.m.

The event will be held at the Tabernacle on Temple Square. It is free and open to the public.

This concert will honor the Korean War “Remembering the Forgotten War.” Music will be performed by the Utah National Guard’s 23rd Army Band. 

“We are excited to resume in-person attendance for this year’s Veterans Day concert, which has
been a long-standing tradition in Utah,” said Maj. Gen. Michael Turley, adjutant general, Utah
National Guard in a news release. “The purpose of this concert is to honor all veterans, who have proudly
answered the call to serve our state and nation.”

During the event, Brig. Gen. Kurt Davis, of the Utah National Guard, will speak honoring the veterans and the support given by Utah military members during the Korean War.

According to a news release, the winners of the state-wide Utah PTA and Utah National Guard essay contest and will be announced. Additionally, the recipient of the Zions Bank Veterans Service Award will also be recognized during the event. 

Those wishing to attend should plan to arrive early as seating in the Tabernacle is limited. Overflow seating will not be available. 

For those unable to attend in person, the concert will be livestreamed on the Utah National Guard’s Facebook page.
