SALT LAKE CITY — One man was arrested Monday after allegedly tailgating a police officer and threatening the officer with a gun.
According to a probable cause statement, Sgt. Jason Deherrera of the Granite School District Police Department was attempting to go eastbound on 4100 South Monday morning.
After signaling his lane change, driver Taylor Bradley became “upset” with Sgt. Deherrera, the arrest document reports.
Bradley began tailgating Deherrera who was in his unmarked police truck. After Bradley reportedly continuously followed Deherrera’s truck in close proximity, Deherrera moved back over to a different lane.
Next, the probable cause statement alleges that Bradley pulled up alongside Deherrera, yelled profanities and eventually pulled out a firearm and pointed it at Deherrera.
Consequently, Deherrera performed a traffic stop at 4100 South and 5470 West. Instructing Bradley out of the car, Deherrera detained him.
According to the probable cause statement, Bradley lied about the location of his firearm, which he wedged in the cushion of his driver’s seat.
Bradley is now in Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault and the threat of dangerous weapons.
