SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Workforce Services released the October jobs report on Friday morning. The unemployment rate for the state held steady at 2.1%. Utah added 56,000 jobs in the past 12 months making the current job count .1,690,000.
Nationally, the unemployment rate increased by two-tenths and sits at 3.7%.
The Department of Workforce Services Deputy Director, Nate McDonald joined KSL’S Utah Morning News to discuss the report.
McDonald noted that our Utah’s steady unemployment rate is a good sign.
“Our job growth, we slowed just a little bit, we slowed down to about 3.1% but the fact that we’re still above 3% job growth is still a very strong and positive sign that Utah’s economy is still moving forward.”
