TREMONTON, Utah– A bus crash early Monday morning sent dozens to the hospital with varying injuries. The Utah Highway Patrol reported at least two people were listed as critical.

According to UHP, the accident happened around 4:30 a.m. The bus was traveling eastbound on I-84 about 5 to 7 miles west of Tremonton.

UHP Sgt. Cameron Roden joined KSL NewsRadio’s Utah Morning News with the latest information.

The driver of the bus was reportedly looking to change lanes and may have lost control sending the bus sliding off the right side of the road.

The bus then went off to the right shoulder and rolled onto its side with dozens of people on board.

A spokesperson for Intermountain Healthcare says 19 people were injured and taken to the hospital to get checked out. Seven of those have now been transported to other hospitals because they had serious, more critical injuries.

There were 24-25 people on board of the Salt Lake Express bus.

According to a news release from the UHP Monday night, of the 23 individuals who reported injuries, most have been treated and released from the hospital. And only one individual appears to have life-threatening injuries.

The UHP further states that most of the injuries ranged from moderate to more serious (non-life threatening).
