SALT LAKE CITY — If you’ve made a health or fitness resolution for 2023, you’re not alone! Millions make fitness goals every year.

So it’s no surprise that come January, health clubs fill to capacity. Jan Carlson, manager of the Ogden Athletic Club said she usually sees the rise this time of year.

“You’re going to find lots of people working out and getting fit,” said Carlson. “They usually come in from about January to February 18.”

Mickenzie Brooks, a personal trainer at the Ogden Athletic Club has a tip to help you stick with your fitness resolution. First she recommends setting goals and staying realistic.

“I recommend grabbing a friend. The more you have someone holding you accountable, the more accountable you’ll be and the longer you’ll stick with it.”

Additionally, Carlson said a trend happening this year is having family goals and getting everyone on board with being healthy. This could also help everyone in the house stay motivated by working together.
