SALT LAKE CITY — With additional snow in the forecast for Utah on Friday, the morning commute could be an interesting one.

“This is one of those sloppy storms that’s barely snow,” said KSL meteorologist Kevin Eubank. “Because it’s so wet and the temperatures are just right there around freezing. So again, it doesn’t look like huge accumulations just a lot of slop.”

Eubank says there will be 1 to 2 inches of wet, slushy snow in time for the Friday morning commute.  He says the rain that arrived in the state late Thursday will turn to snow sometime between 2 and 4 a.m.

“Then it stays snow, really close to snow for most of the day tomorrow,” he said.

Eubank says the storm will be through by midday Friday.

“Should wind down by afternoon Friday,” he said. “It moves out.”

Once again, the mountains will be impacted the most by the storm. Eubank says the mountains could receive 8 to 16 inches of snow out of this storm. He adds that the mountains will be seeing snow for the next 24 hours.
