SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake Bees and Bees baseball will relocate to Daybreak, in South Jordan.

In an email, the team owner, Larry H. Miller Company, said the new stadium will be privately financed and will “serve as a year-round entertainment anchor for the fast-growing southwest quadrant of Salt Lake County.”

Construction will begin this year, with the opening date planned for the 2025 baseball season.

In the meantime, Bees baseball will remain at Smith’s Ballpark in Salt Lake City at the existing stadium at 77 West 1300 South.

The Larry H. Miller Company said it was “grateful for the leadership of (Salt Lake City) Mayor (Erin) Mendenhall and her team for engaging us as we evaluated potential outcomes in this decision.”

As for what will happen when the team leaves Smith’s Ballfield, the company said it will continue to “enrich and reimagine” the existing ballpark neighborhood.
