SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — A single-engine aircraft made an emergency landing on Northbound Bangerter Highway Tuesday evening.

Detective Anthony Hansen with the South Jordan Police Department says two men were in the aircraft heading from Pheonix, Arizona to Ogden Hinckley Airport.

During the flight, the plane’s engine failed, causing them to make an emergency landing on Bangerter Highway.

They landed on Northbound Bangerter Highway between 104 and 114 South.

Initially, the pair intended on making the landing at the South Valley Regional Airport in West Jordan but were unable to make it.

The emergency landing left the highway with only two lanes open for a time, according to Hansen.

The occupants of the plane sustained no injuries, nor did the plane sustain any damage. Along with this, there were no injuries to any drivers or damage to any vehicles on the roadway.
