SALT LAKE CITY — Some Utahns were stuck at home, or even on the roads, as a snowstorm blew through the state Wednesday.
Wade Matthews, public information officer with the Utah Division of Emergency Management, joined Dave and Dujanovic to advise Utahns to check on others.
Matthews said checking in on people is important during storms because some may not be able to venture out in bad weather.
“There are people that we need to be concerned about at home: elderly especially, people with functional and access needs.”
Checking in could mean checking if someone has power, heat, food, water or resources necessary for making it through a storm safely.
And, Matthews added, check in on those who aren’t in the same area as you.
“If you’ve got family members, you know, elderly family members that are across town or in a different part of the state. Give them a call. Make sure that their conditions are okay.”
