OGDEN, Utah — More than 3,500 homes and businesses were without power in northern Utah on Monday morning.

Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Dave Eskelson said the outages were scattered, but that there were a large group of problems near McKay Dee Hospital.

But Eskelson said the hospital was never without power.

Most of the problems were caused by the snowstorm that dropped heavy snow on tree limbs. In one instance, Eskelson said an entire tree was leveled by the weight of snow.
