FARMINGTON, Utah — Glovers Lane is going to be shut down until 3 p.m. this afternoon because of major road damage from the spring runoff.

The road needs immediate maintenance due to road deterioration that occurred last night. Water caused huge chunks of the road to come off.

UDOT spokesperson Mitch Shaw said all the water created a huge pothole to the point people couldn’t drive past it.

“It was only a 40-foot section of road but obviously you can’t have a big rut and expect people to drive through it,” said Shaw.

Traffic is being diverted onto nearby roads including 650 West and 1100 West. Shaw says they hope to finish by the time school lets out.

Glovers Lane is not a UDOT-managed road, but this happened to the temporary pavement on their side of the West Davis Highway construction.
