SALT LAKE CITY — This weekend, crews with the Utah Department of Transportation are replacing the 1300 E. bridge over I-80 and sliding a new one into place. This will result in an I-80 closure in multiple areas.
Thursday night, UDOT is closing 1300 E. over I-80 in Salt Lake City at 7 p.m. Traffic on 1300 E. in that area will remain closed through the morning of April 21 while UDOT replaces the bridge over I-80.
Drivers should use 700 E. as an alternate route.
UDOT will also close I-80 in both directions between 700 E. and Foothill Drive from Friday, April 14, at 8 p.m. through Monday, April 17, at 5 a.m.
Drivers should use I-15 and I-215 as alternate routes.
UDOT is warning drivers to expect heavy traffic delays throughout the replacement process.
