SPANISH FORK, Utah — A 25-year-old construction worker is stuck after a construction site accident Tuesday morning. Authorities say the man is stuck up to his waist.

Spanish Fork Police Department Lt. Cory Slaymaker said the 25-year-old was in a trench, taking measurements at a worksite near 810 East 1950 North. While in the trench, the side crumbled, trapping him.

Although the man is stuck up to his waist, he remains alert.

“He’s alert, conscious and breathing,” Slaymaker said, adding that the man told emergency responders that he was in pain.

Fire and EMS crews from Spanish Fork and Provo are at the scene. A life flight has been called but hasn’t arrived yet.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
