SALT LAKE CITY — Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) is upset with the Homeland Security Department at the southern border.

During a hearing on Tuesday, Romney questioned Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. Romney was especially focused on one question.

“Give us a grade,” Romney said. “How are we in terms of securing our southern border first? Is it an A, B, C, D, E or F in terms of the security America’s southern border?”

“The issue of addressing the root causes is not exclusive,” Mayorkas said.

Romney responded, “I have a question which is, can you grade how secure our southern border is an A to F?”

“Senator, we are dedicating our resources to achieve the maximum possible of them,” Mayorkas said.

“You’re not willing to give it a grade,” Romney asked. “I mean, I am, it’s an F. It’s clearly an F.”

Eventually, Mayorkas told Romney that he is working to secure the holes and gaps in the border wall.
