SALT LAKE CITY — With a message of hope, the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be embarking on a world tour over the next four years.
The choir’s first stop will be in Mexico City June 13-19, 2023. Future stops on the choir’s world tour will be announced at a later date.
During its performance in Mexico City, the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square will be performing at the National Auditorium (June 17-18). According to a church news release, the last time the choir performed at the National Auditorium was in 1972.
The news release states that the choir will travel more often. However, travel will be for a shorter amount of time. The idea is to make the choir more visible around the world. And also trying to reach as many individuals as possible.
“Our goal is to magnify the Choir’s impact throughout the world by helping people feel God’s love for His children,” said Choir President Michael O. Leavitt in a news release. “Our performances will be free. Many will be live-streamed. So local congregations in the regions we visit can invite their friends and communities to participate.”
The Mexico City performances will also include guest artists from Mexico.
Bonneville International Corporation, the company that owns KSL NewsRadio, is a subsidiary of Deseret Management Corporation, which is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
