Smith’s Grocery Store in Farmington deemed safe after bomb threat called in

FARMINGTON, Utah — Farmington police say a Smith’s Grocery Store has been deemed safe after a bomb threat was called in there Friday afternoon.
Police say an unknown individual called in the bomb threat to the Smith’s Grocery Store, located at 1316 N. Highway 89 around 2:30 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement personnel immediately evacuated the store, and a search of any possible explosive device began. Bomb detection K9 teams from the Utah Highway Patrol and Utah Transit Authority police were brought in to assist in the search.
Investigators determined the store to be safe at 4:08 p.m. All parking lot and business closures have been lifted.
The Farmington Police Department and the FBI are working to investigate the incident further.
