CLEARFIELD, Utah — A young missionary has died after an accident in Clearfield.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says Elder Isaac Heninger died after suffering a head injury.

Church officials say the 19-year-old was with his companions when they encountered some young men on electric scooters, and he tried to jump over one of them which is when he hit his head.

Elder Heninger was from Searsville, New Brunswick Canada. He had been serving on his mission in the Layton area since December.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
