SALT LAKE CITY — We could see record breaking temperatures this week.

The National Weather Service has an excessive heat warning and heat advisory for portions of Southern Utah through Thursday.

KSL meteorologist Grant Weyman says it’s a stay inside kind of week.

“Folks are urged to wear light clothing, drink extra water, and pay attention to the elderly whose air conditioning may not be working,” he said.

Weyman says Southern Utah is used to triple digits, but this will be a sustained heat. Around 100 in Northern Utah this time of year is not normal either.
