SALT LAKE CITY – Police say a woman they called a “person of interest” in a deadly hit and run crash has been found, and will go back to prison on a parole violation.
Shutney Lee Kyzer was seen in surveillance video leaving the area near 200 South and 400 West after the crash. Detective Robert Ungricht says it didn’t take long for them to learn her name. He says, “We obtained information on this individual through the passenger that was in this vehicle that stayed on the scene after the crash.”
Ungricht says they still have lots of questions about what she did and why she left. “We’re trying to determine if this incident was accidental or intentional. Were there drugs or alcohol involved? These are all things our investigators need to look at to determine the course of this investigation,” he adds.
Four others were treated for minor injuries and released after the crash. Ungricht says, “One other individual was in serious condition, but they been listed as stable and they’re going to survive.”
Kyzer was sentenced to one to 15 years for burglary and kidnapping in 2009. In 2014, she was convicted of possessing meth and Spice. Last year, she was convicted for punching a fellow inmate.
