DAVIS COUNTY — Homes and farmland are on the chopping block in the last public plan for a new highway in Davis county.
The Utah Department of Transportation released the plan today showing the road will start in West Point at 1800 North and run south along 4100 West. It then veers east to Gentile street and follows the nature preserves to Farmington Bay. Along that route the highway would cut throught several homes and about three acres of farmland.
“We have twenty-five homes impacted, possibly nine more, for a total of thirty-four homes over nineteen miles,” UDOT project manager Randy Jeffries said, adding that none of the homes impacted will be saved. ” {We will} purchase the property and relocate those homeowners to a new location.”
