SALT LAKE CITY — A call for more action to help domestic violence victims.

Salt Lake County had three terribly violent murder-suicide situations in June. Now, the county council has a resolution declaring that government has a responsibility to stopping domestic violence.

Survivor Heather Smith Wolsey joined Salt Lake County leaders today in saying Utahns need to help their neighbors.

“If you guys think someone is being abused, and you can’t reach out to them, call police and ask for a well-person check. Make someone aware, don’t leave that victim helpless,” she said tearfully.

The Salt Lake County Council joined a growing list of other counties in Utah today in presenting a resolution on domestic violence.
