WEST JORDAN — The same West Jordan woman who donated money for a new police K-9 after one passed away in 2014, has stepped up again. This time Alexandra Eframo gave 4,000 of her own dollars to the department to outfit their dogs in bullet-proof vests.

Sgt. Joe Monson, spokesperson for the department, said until this donation none of their dogs had bullet proof vests. He said this money will almost completely cover vests for three of their K-9’s.

“They are a great tool for us, but they are also partners,” Monson said. “The ability to protect them will go a long way.”

Monson said it means a lot to police officers when they see the people they work so hard to protect, reach out in their own way to protect the department.
